In 2006, the Puerto Rican film "RUIDO (Noise)" directed by him bagged the Innovation Award at the 30th Montreal Film Festival. This was a historic win, marking the first Puerto Rican movie to triumph at a Class "A" festival (FIAPF). It also received accolades at other international events, including the Ciguapa de Oro Award at the VIII Muestra Internacional de Cine de Santo Domingo and the CyberVote Award at the 28th Havana Film Festival. It also garnered numerous nominations, like at Latin American Cinema Trieste's XX Edizione.
By 2015, another of his films, "LA EXTRAÑA (She, the Strange)", was spotlighted by the Canadian Film Institute to represent the Dominican Republic at the 19th Latin American Film Festival. Moreover, it was showcased at the 31st Chicago Latino Film Festival and contended in the New Vision Category of the 12th Bahamas International Film Festival.
His short film "EL FONDILLO MARAVILLOSO (Marvelous Buns)" was distinguished with the Award of Distinction at the Canada Short Film Festival. Furthermore, it secured nominations in over 20 international events, from the 32nd Chicago Latino Film Festival to the Hollywood Screenings Film Festival.
A significant achievement was his NC documentary series "INGREDIENTES NUESTROS (Our Ingredients)", which began with a pilot that was an Official Selection at multiple North Carolina festivals, including the 35th Chicago Latino Film Festival and the 34th NC Latin American Film Festival.
His latest work is the historical short, "CHIEF TENDOY", backed by Washington State University. This film marked its presence at the 38th BogoCine-Bogotá Films Festival and received nominations at the 2023 Austin Lift-Off Film Festival. Notably, it was shot during the pandemic, strictly adhering to Hollywood unions' biosafety protocols. As a testament to their stringent measures, everyone involved, including the 90 extras, remained Covid-19 free.
Now, he is immersed in the heart of the Dominican Republic, bringing to life his compelling new feature film, A VECES GRITO (SOMETIMES I SCREAM). Furthermore, he has served as the president of the jury at many international film festivals.
