I had my first taste of filmmaking at university. A film festival called Campus Movie Fest was traveling to colleges all around the country and gave students the chance to make a film with their equipment... for free. Naturally, I gave it a shot and while my first film was less than perfect, I've been obsessed with the filmmaking craft ever since. I decided to set out on this journey when I realized exactly what it was about filmmaking, about stories, that I found so enticing.
Stories are powerful. They can make us laugh and cry, cheer and denounce. They can help us connect to each other and to the world in ways we wouldn't expect. As a storyteller, I believe it is my job to strengthen those connections and build new ones in hopes of making the world a better place.
