The art of successful makeup for cinema is three-fold: 1. Understanding a project from the top level. Accurate and specific script analysis, budgeting, concept work, collaboration, shop builds, conflict management, and adaptation are all necessary components before principle begins. 2. Implementing the vision on the ground. Create safe, healthy and exciting environments for your department, your actors and your producers/directors. We are the first point of contact for actors at the top of day, and the last point of contact before "Action!". If your makeup team can't command the proper environment for talent, it will affect the entire production.3. Artistry. The secret sauce. This is how to approach a project.
