With over 12 years of experience in film and television hairstyling, I have honed my skills in managing hair teams effectively and creating diverse, character-driven hairstyles. My team leadership style focuses on quality of work, consistency and continuity, coordination with other departments, adaptability, and adherence to schedules ensuring actors are ready on time to avoid delays.
In my previous roles as Hair Head of Department, I have led diverse teams of hairstylists and collaborated with the Director, Costume Designer and Makeup Head of Department to ensure working smoothly with production teams so that all hairstyles met or exceeded expectations. Establishing accurate high-quality hairstyling that enhances production value is a department core value. My expertise includes period styles, wigs, and extensions, with a focus on maintaining consistent character appearances across scenes. On Apple TV’s ME series, I designed and created multiple hair extensions for a modern trending teen hairstyle for the main character. Numerous hair color changes were required for the script often on the same day. This was done efficiently and in timely manner, despite being labor-intensive, using a unique system I devised. As Hair HOD on “George & Tammy” I created period hairstyles for the main and ensemble cast of over 100 characters spanning three different decades - 1960s, 70s and 90s. Period styled wigs were used extensively throughout our department and the production. On “The Family Plan” feature film many stunt double wigs were fashioned to create exact matches to the main characters. This was done while ensuring durability and continuity throughout stunt action sequences. On the feature film “The Secret Headquarters” I was requested by the actor and hired as the Personal Hairstylist to the main character, Owen Wilson. Working closely together we formulated a style befitting his Dad-turned-Superhero character, while staying true to his signature shaggy layered hairstyle he is known for. These are just a few examples of my skills and experience.
